All “Diplomatic Cables” collections contain released or leaked communications related to the war on drugs in Mexico between American diplomats abroad and Washington. In addition to entirely routine daily reports, they also include summaries of private meetings with representatives of the Mexican government, candid comments by ambassadors on current issues, and formerly classified information about the nature of the U.S. strategy in combating drug trafficking. The 1992-94 collection contains 46 documents divided into three parts.
